Going Global or Accessing Asia?

Senior lecturer, Director of the Master of International Business (MIB) Program and Postgraduate Programs Coordinator, The University of Sydney Business School.
Chinmay teaches post-graduate and executive students global strategy, corporate strategy, corporate governance, entrepreneurship and doing business in emerging markets.
He serves on the editorial review board of Journal of World Business, Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Journal of Korea Trade.
Chinmay has consulted to major multinational corporations (MNCs) to devise their market entry strategy, product development and developing relations with governments in steel, electronics, cosmetics and retail sector primarily in Asian market. He has developed several executive programs for Korean MNC managers to succeed in global markets.
His research philosophy is based on "contextualizing theories," i.e., to critically evaluate and build on existing international business and strategy theories in emerging market contexts. In particular his research focuses on the (i) motivation and process of internationalization; (ii) corporate diversification strategy during institutional transition, and the (iii) impact of corporate governance on external stakeholders. He has examined the above topics in firms based in India, China and Korea.
Chinmay's research articles have appeared in leading international journals including Journal of International Business Studies, Management International Review, Journal of Business Research, Asia Pacific Journal of Management and Management Decision.
He co-edited a book, volume 15 of International Finance Review on ‘Emerging Market Firms in Global Economy’, which has recently been published (2014) by Emerald Publishing UK.
